Poonal rules after divorce

Just a thought, where would you get justification for an event that was not there when shastras were written. What if he wears three, two, one.

My personal opinion: for a brahma marriage, divorce is not defined by tradition. Divorce is only legally available by Indian Law, not by shastras. Legal divorce would not break the marriage.

As I understand from our vadhyars that one poonal for bachelor, 2 for married and 3 for those who have child. Now After marriage you wear 2 poonals that indicates that you have entered in to grahasthasram from bramacharyam. By divorce you cannot come back to brahmacharyam and hence you have to wear 2 poonals only. The nos. indicate the elevation in life.
