Namaskaaram Gopalan Sir: As for the motion of Sun, the aarohana gathi is it's movement towards its exaltation Rasi (from Thulaam) Mesha and it's avarohana gathi is beyond exaltation from Mesha to debilitation point in Thulaam. The Sun is powerful in arohana and less otherwise in avarohana. I feel both are right. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Each day from 6 am to 12 noon the sun is in aarohanam, and from 12-01 to 6pm the sun is in avarohanam. The sun is more powerful in the morning till noon and less powerful in the evening time. Each raasi is having 30 degrees. and in each rasi each planet, it is aarohanam from 0 to 15 degrees(more powerful)and i is avarohanam from 16 to 30 degrees.(less powerful)

For each planet , the planet is moving towards debilitation from its exaltation rasi and viceversa.
