Thread: Sama Vedha Vathiyars Wanted to Kovaipudur, Coimbatore-42

We are more than 60 Sama Vedha families residing at Kovaipudur, Perur Road, coimbatore. Here there is no permenent Sama Vedha Vathiyar at present. So, we are suffering to perform any ritual like, Aavani avittam, funeral ceremonies like. We have to depend on the local yajur vedha vathiyar who dosen't know Samam. He used to arrange somebody for emergency and collect more money as brohitham services. If any Sama Vedha Vathiyar who is ready to come and stay at kovaipudur we are very grateful to him.

i can understand your predicament. why don't you guys (60 families) get together, and form an association. you can contribute monthly to this organization which will support the vaathiar & his family.

so, the man can be assured of a minimum income. then over and above that, you can all give him the regular sambavanai, as per the needs of each family's functions.

the condition that you can put is that this vaathiar gives priority of his presence to the 60 families who form the backbone of support.

Thank you for your useful suggestion, I will try to unite all the families together and 2 form a new association exclusively to sama vedham families. But a situation here is there are 2 groups ie. thambras & Kovaipudur Brahmana Seva Samaj. these two groups will have to unite and take this decision.

you might have to start a new sama vedic group, as yajurs or riggies have no interest in subsidizing a sama vedic priest. that is how i see it.

there might be calls here in this forum, to unite us and absolve us of our differences. but as i see from your very justifiable request, (i have sama vedic heritage on part of my maternal side). the saama vedis do not quite like to mix with the yajurs or riggies.

my saama vedic relation was a great sanskrit scholar, bestowed the title of 'vedaasrami' by the previous venerable head of the kanchi mutt. but come avani avittam or wedding, he stood firm in his banshee like screaming of the vedas.

i belong to sama veda....belong to singanallur agraharam in coimbatore.....i know some sama veda vathiyar in coimbatore...
have u try in sri ramar kovil, in ram nagar....i think
whole singanallur village belong to sama vedins....in olden
days every body attend on sama veda aavani avittam...
may be try in perur agraharam too....

What you said is absolute correct. O.K. I will try to unite all the sama vedic families of Kovaipudur, Cbe=42., in one branch and will discuss about this subject with them for which I request your precious blessings to me to proceed further in this matter.
